Finland has a secret, high technology innovation hub where 44,000 people with 110 different nationalities work and study on a daily basis in its over 1,000 companies, tens of research labs and R&D organisations. The area holds over 5,000 researchers, several startup co-working spaces and accelerators, and it produces more than one fundable startup every single week. Its students run Europe's largest Student Entrepreneurship Organization called Aalto Entepreneurship Society, from which the Northern Europe's largest startup event, SLUSH, was born.

Aalto University and VTT Research Institute are the two largest academia and research players inside the area whereas Fortum, Nissan Nordic, Kone, Bayer, Neste and Metsä Group are the largest companies.
